who here owns the least physical music?
Out with it, youngins - who's the most digital, or who doesn't even give a fuck about music? I have hundreds of CDs I left back home, and only have like 5 with me now and I feel great! But I am not a contender because I haven't heaved the collection. Put up your numbers.

I'd say probably whoever bitches the most about me having to much physical music.

I own only 2 music cd's. Both are by the band envy and and were given to me as a secret santa gift a few years back.

I have a Morbosidad CD the singer sent me for free after he was like a month late in sending me a shirt, and I got a couple of free local deathcore band demos/EPs, and an Incantation CD that was also free.

Gookstorm keeps trying to pry my cds/lps (and tapes!) from my cold, dead hands. I'm slowly giving in to purging most cds, but the vinyl stays.

Hopefully I won't have any more physical music soon.

Re: who here owns the least physical music?
i'd love to get rid of almost all of my cds. but no one pays shit for used cds and i'm not giving them away for a dollar a piece, i'd rather keep them then and let them collect dust. wouldn't part with any vinyl though.

Why won't you party with vinyl? You stuck up or something?

I don't understand these "Fuck CDs, they mean absolutely nothing to me, but I'd never part with my vinyl ever" people. Someone explain this mentality to me.

it's a romantic thing. i love my vinyl collection and i love looking at it. while cds are just a buttugly and clunky storage medium and i'd rather use mp3s then.Barcass Grinder wrote:I don't understand these "Fuck CDs, they mean absolutely nothing to me, but I'd never part with my vinyl ever" people. Not adequately explained. Sorry. Keep trying. Aren't LPs just a place to store music also? Fuck your record romance.

I am on board with you, brother! I don't know why anyone would want to get rid of any of it. Well, aside from dowloading it illegally is cheaper.

Re: who here owns the least physical music?
somewhere around 600 or 700 CDs. Haven't counted in awhile.
probably 100 or so LPs
30 or 40 7" and other format vinyls
lots of mp3s, but I can't just count the number of records my player says I have, because a bunch of those are my records and CDs.

Re: who here owns the least physical music?
I almost sold all of my cds a couple months ago because the only purpose they serve me is a transfer mode of music to computer. When I'm at home I only listen to vinyl and when I'm out I only listen to my iPod. My sweaty talked me out of it and said that I'd regret it later, which I thank her for. I regret losing track of all my tapes.

Re: who here owns the least physical music?
There's something about looking at your racks of cd's (or swaying stacks, if you're not the tidy type) and shelves full of vinyl that just says, 'jesus buttloving christ I need to buy more more more.' Call me crass consumer, call me socially retarded hoarder, but I look forward to those quiet, introspective moments when I can lay on the floor in front of my stereo and select titles at random and just get facefucked by music.

Re: who here owns the least physical music?
Definitely a romantic thing, but also because they have fun features (and I like the sound). There's very little novelty to most cds, whereas a lot of vinyl has colored vinyl, gatefold covers, hologram covers, special etchings on the inner circle of the album, fun poster inserts, etc. I only have a few special cds that have special artwork/limited press, so I may as well just have a burn of the rest.Phritz wrote:it's a romantic thing. i love my vinyl collection and i love looking at it. while cds are just a buttugly and clunky storage medium and i'd rather use mp3s then.Barcass Grinder wrote:I don't understand these "Fuck CDs, they mean absolutely nothing to me, but I'd never part with my vinyl ever" people. Re: who here owns the least physical music?
Definitely not me. I've got somewhere around 2500 CD's, still a bunch of cassettes, and some LP's and 7"s. I probably have more CD's than I have MP3's.
