I'm afraid this is something I can not or will not control. For the second time in about 12 years I find myself (lost in the wilderness) unable to consume meat or animal products in any way. I literally gag if I attempt it or think about it. This is not an emotional, rational, moral or political decision. It is something that happened to me before...I didn't understand it then and I don't understand it now. It seems to be physiological or if it IS psychological its so buried in my psyche I can't reach it with both bloodstained hands. So here I'm left, coping...

Inspired by this board's vegans I will, this time, at least go out of my way to make it a fun experience by differentiating widely and learning how to cook all kinds of new things.

I will not:

a) make fun of anyone's eating preferences or political stances
b) give up my leather armchair. Fuck you, that cow is dead already.
c) eat kale
d) think that I am somehow "better" because I have to do this

I now open this thread to rampant mockery and/or a general questioning of my heterosexuality.

It's really difficult to post on the board these days...

Whoever it was that said "the board is mostly about the board now" was right. The problem with that is we don't get new people in here often enough to make it interesting...so if one posts something all the resulting replies are obvious and already scripted. To see them actually posted is then a disappointment. It's possible to run every post through a series of equations and make 4-5 page threads out of that as everyone chimes in RE: their internal programming. When one then compares that to the "real" threads the outcome is, again, disappointing and depressing. It's even more depressing knowing that in someone else's equations I'm just a small series of variables within too-close parentheses. So if I were, for example, to post something completely random (in my head), that is also included by a variable whose range is not exactly wide. I'll do so now to draw that variable closer and make it more exact:
