that interview goes in a good direction, though - kudos to the conductor
this astronomer comes across as such a goober. nothing about that space shard makes it seem like anything other than a space shard... who cares if it's moving slowly, maybe it smashed into some asteroids

Another mainstream idea is the extra dimension. You see that in string theory, which gets a lot of good press, and awards are given to members of that community. Not only has it not been tested empirically for almost forty years now but there is no hope it will be tested in the next forty years. And yet your friend has no problem with that! Whoever you are quoting has no problem with the multiverse, with string theory. No problem!

I guess there's a google maps for space that has realistic-looking black holes?
is that link not working? gfycat.com/blankflusteredconey <--- go here
I am into more black hole content
best part of interstellar was that featurette about their space CGI that they released before the movie

I can trace my ancestry all the way back to historic germanic tribal chieftains in fact.

4 Girl scientist isn't that pretty or smart.
What a shock that the Fucks Twice a Year Brigade considers a lady with a microscope to be a bigger threat than an ISIS/ACLU hybrid.

From an empirical viewpoint, the problem with Free Will (and causality) is reconciling determinism and freedom to make sense of morality.

How angry pilots got the Navy to stop dismissing UFO sightings
How angry pilots got the Navy to stop dismissing UFO sightings
Elizondo, who ran the AATIP, said the newly drafted guidelines were a culmination of many things, most notably that the Navy had enough credible evidence — including eyewitness accounts and corroborating radar information — to “know this is occurring.”
“If I came to you and said, ‘There are these things that can fly over our country with impunity, defying the laws of physics, and within moments could deploy a nuclear device at will,’ that would be a matter of national security,” Elizondo said.
With the number of U.S. military personnel in the Air Force and Navy who described the same observations, the noise level could not be ignored.
“This type of activity is very alarming,” Elizondo said, “and people are recognizing there are things in our aerospace that lie beyond our understanding.”
