So the latest in the Volkswagen scandal is that apparently they just ran out of time developing the engine in question and decided to cheat instead. Now that I think about it, that would actually make perfect sense and explain everything else. Bunch of engineers go to their boss and go, boss, we're sorry, but we can't meet those specs you wanted, we need more time. Boss says, we can't do that, I told my boss we'd get it done for this budget. Now I'm gonna get fired, and half of you too, probably. Guy at the end of the table raises his hand and goes, well, we do have this software from Bosch. Then the next guy up the corporate ladder doesn't notice it until it's too late, has to cover it up to save his own ass, and boom, global scandal.

That would also explain why supposedly the current generation of engines is clean, and why the other manufacturers weren't all doing the same thing. How disappointing. I thought this was going to be carmageddon.

Selling the condo that I've been living in for 7yrs and it's really not a good fucking time to sell. The thing's been on the market for a couple weeks now and only 1 offer and a handful of second showings have come in.
The day before last I got word of another second showing - someone that was very serious about the place - and I went home to clean it up and make things look presentable when I noticed a stain on the ceiling just outside the entrance to my unit. Turns out the plumbing sprung a leak in the worst possible place and now there's a hole cut in the cieling exposing a weathered piece of copper pipe dripping water on a fluorescent light. And a pail collecting the drips sitting on the floor.

Perhaps this is God speaking to me. Chad?
