so it took me a while to parse it, and leaving out all the other personal shit ancillary to the issue, but a former bandmate and friend died the other day; i hadn't heard about or from her for some years, when other friends of mine (ones that only met her once or twice) sent me i guess what you'd call condolence messages? like we hadn't been in touch for literally four years, and there wasn't any friendship left, but i feel genuinely sad and terrible for her and her family, who are uniformly good and kind people

so i guess no reunion shows, huh[/uncomfortable joke to lighten the mood]

Lawnmower will not start

Something sounds mechanical wrong when I try to start it....like something is loose. I have zero motivation to resolve the problem. I went to look at new lawnmowers today and I am torn on what to do. Come this August, I won't need a lawnmower for the next four years. So do I buy a lawnmower and then try to sell it, do I get off my lazy ass and try to resolve what is loose/broken, or do I make my oldest go out with a pair of scissors?

A family pet is killed by a car

Then the next day I'm tearing off some dead tree branches to keep my mind off things and a thick one breaks in my hand instead of the joint so the rest of it snaps back like a diving board and cracks the shit out of the back of my head cutting up my ear nicely.

Then the next day at work I bite my tongue so bad a little piece of it can be turned over like a flap.

Then the next day I slice my knuckle opening a door (?!) not bad but enough to bleed a bit

Then yesterday I chip my upper and lower canine teeth together on one side of my mouth, feels like a third one got dinged up in the process.

The company that hired my boo actually bit the bullet and took out a credit line to pay off everyone that worked that particular event that they hired for. They were decent enough to realize that if everyone that was hired went after him in court they would end up losing a lot of the money in legal fees (and that's a best-case scenario if they ended up getting paid only after actually winning the case).

So basically there isn't a boiler room in hell warm enough for that piece of shit.

Yesterday my grandpa's old barn was destroyed in a tornado. Wasn't the first time though - it was built in 1907 and totalled in 1912: Great Grandpa was in the barn at the time back then


The superstructure was destroyed but the foundation (mostly) survived and the barn was rebuilt and stood strong until yesterday. This is how it looked when I visited last year:

The guy who bought the property was picking round bales from the tops of oak trees this afternoon.
