The books are totally pervy. And this is HBO. Are we going to see tits in this? So many whores and incestuous sisters. That one chick is supposed to be 14, and gets fucked like a beast in at least 5 chapters, will we see some of her titties? The reviews aren't saying.

Will HBO show her breastfeeding her dragon babies? Ross would explode.

I agree but for a debut I really didn't think they set up much of anything nor do I think any casual watcher would be able to get through the whole thing without flipping the channel

Loved it overall, but it did start out great and then got slow as shit after that. Awesome cinematography... I could stare at those landscapes and scenery all day. I've never read the books... is it low on action/high on politics all the time?

There better be a ton of fucking in it. The books are dirty. And I want to see fucking in a medieval setting.

I'm only getting through book two, but yeah, it's mostly politics, very little action.

A 13 year old got boned in the first book right? They better get that shit right or I'm starting an online petition.

She's 14.

And they have to bone her.

Because she gets preggers.

There is an awful lot of politics and hifalutin' talk of honor and morals and knightliness and "m'lord, I beseech thee" and "you will not make a mockery of this lordly council!!" and such, especially in the first book. It does require an attention span.

That said, the series definitely has its kings share of beheadings, disembowelments and general ass-whuppings. You can see that anywhere, though. What makes the action interesting is the storytelling behind it. To me, anyway.

So yeah, assuming the series follows the general structure of the books (I haven't watched a frame of it yet), the lesson is... be patient.

She was 13 at first boning, turned 14 in the course of the book. Gaww, people, get with it.

According to IMDB though, the chick who plays her is like 24 (warning sign no. 1: show's producers are pussies).

OK, gonna watch it now...

Done watching. Very satisfied. The fuckings didn't bother or bore me. I'm glad the chick playing the 14-year-old is of age because now we get to see her goodies. Robert looked just like I imagined he'd look like. The kids are all good, except Sansa, but she's supposed to be vapid and annoying. The scenes not in the book worked pretty well and I hope they're not afraid to tidy up the story by writing new scenes. All in all, I can't honestly judge this because I just finished reading the book and it just triggers my enjoyment of the reading.

Yeah, that was pretty swell. Good cast, good script, excellent production design. Not a bad adaptation, either. The characters are well realized and the story elements seem to be falling into place nicely so far. It will be interesting to see the development through the course of the season.

I'm also glad the kid actors don't suck, at least what we've seen of them. The kid playing Joffrey looks like a conniving little shithead you just wanna slap, which is a good thing.

Can't think of anything bad to say at this point. What was good was good, not great. Mind ≠ blown, but I'd call it a solid start.
