I looked up Thomas Harris to see if he had written any other Hannibal shit since last I was aware. Forgot about Hannibal Rising, which to paint it in the best possible light I can is The Punisher: A Cannibal Tale. Just hope the random mentioning of his sister in season 3 is as far into that book as we'll ever get. So, I'm guessing season 4 would be a one off unless they stretch Silence of the Lambs out, or double dip back into Hannibal.

Mindhunter 8.5/10 The guy playing Kemper is fantastic. Never knew about him but his crimes are hilariously over the top. It's always a mean bitch of a mom, isn't it?

Stranger Things 2 - 7.5/10

Still pretty good, but this season lacked the unseen horror elements, excellently timed comic relief, and well-captured childhood wonder that made the first season so good. I did enjoy the coming of age stuff, though, and thought it was well handled, but El’s side trip to Chicago episode was fucking ridiculous and out of place and totally not forgivable.

Stranger Things S1 8/10
Halfway through Season 2 and it feels like I'm watching the same plot from S1 but with a large dose of boredom thrown in. Kind of hope the dimension traveling alien just swallows the whole fucking town because I'm not sure I'll be able to watch a third season.

Stranger Things 2 - 2/10

mediocre fan-fiction at best. i know everyone despised the Punk Vacation episode, but at least that brought something to the sandbox other than more Namblin Entertainment memorabilia.

can't help but think this show is gonna end up being the baby horror version of Heroes; a mildly intriguing first season that ends up licking its own ass for a few years before everyone just gives up.

There are an abundance of Disney Marvel, Fox X-Men Marvel, and DC comics shows that I could have done without that super powers episode shoehorned into Stranger Things 2's "horror". Of most importance, it harbingers in a shift of direction the show should not go into. Series finale is the united Super babies battling the main smoke monster? Look for smoke monster to control a super power at one point.

can't argue with that... it's either going to be an aside that they'll ignore in future episodes or it'll lead to some mad-lib similar to the zombie dragon on Game of Thrones; carefully marketed cat-nip for geek culture simps.

i guess i prefer a Suburbia call back to an E.T. one, but still...

I'm halfway through season 2 and feel pretty strongly that anthology would've been the way to go...

Agreed on that last part. The actors and characters are all pretty good but a different horror somewhere else would have been great.
