even though I was obviously never around for them, I pine for the days when the top strap would be given to guys who were legit badasses on the basis that they'd still be able to win if a challenger decided to try and go into business for themself and shoot to win a match they were booked to lose

Re: Sir Schwartz's Unstoppable Pro Wrestling Thread
I've seen him in DGUSA and CZW, he's kind of the chickenshit heel in both, but in different ways due to the different nature of the two companies...
his run in DGUSA is better booked, and he's a more clear-cut heel, but the 'story' element suffers a little from the fact that DGUSA only books shows every 2 months; still, his run with Jimmy Jacobs was a pretty solid example of what you're talking about, I think... i.e. a threatening heel who is totally chickenshit when the odds aren't stacked in his favor. also lots of (debatably) amusing misogyny in his DGUSA run as he'd have a different valet for every show and treated all of them like shit...
his run in CZW is not quite as solid an example, I think mostly because the CZW fans don't tend to cheers faces and boo heels, but 2010 in CZW was another awesome example of this... despite the fact that CZW didn't seem to be pushing him as much as you might expect them to push their own world champ; I think maybe CZW weren't Moxley's own top priority(?), which meant he missed a few shows and had limited roles in other shows... but again, a lot of times he was the chickenshit heel who used underhanded tactics, opportunism, and a fork to hold onto the belt, yet still seemed like a genuine threat

Did they really just skip through the whole attitude era and the fall of WCW in about three minutes? Well the start of the documentary is cool anyway. The Real MPD wrote:

In September, Fliehr got in a fight with the 22-year-old boyfriend of his daughter Ashley at an apartment in Chapel Hill, N.C. When officers responded, they found Fliehr bloodied and bruised, lying on a bed. They described him as "elusive," and said he "just wanted everything forgotten." The Associated Press reported that Ashley "became belligerent and kicked an officer." She was charged with resisting arrest.

Re: Sir Schwartz's Unstoppable Pro Wrestling Thread
In June 2009, Tiffany hired a moving company to retrieve her possessions from Fliehr's house. She allegedly broke into the home using a shovel. In the process, she destroyed five "Flair Bear" stuffed animals and took 25. Also taken from Fliehr's house were 12 action figures, two handguns, three robes, a ruby necklace, and Fliehr's dog. One of the destroyed Flair Bears was found in a "lewd and lascivious" position in Fliehr's pool.
The ruby necklace was worn by Fliehr's mother and given to him after her death as an inheritance.
The dog was a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Natch. Fliehr confirmed with his veterinarian that not only did Tiffany take the dog, but also had the "temerity to re-name Defendant's dog."

He filed a June complaint against Tiffany for assault and stalking after she hit him with a cell phone charger while trespassing near his home. In the complaint, one question asks whether the defendant abuses drugs or alcohol. Fliehr circled "alcohol" and wrote "a lot" in the space provided.

Re: Sir Schwartz's Unstoppable Pro Wrestling Thread
latest DVD order arrived
all Chikara and CZW shows from March and April this year (so, including King Of Trios and the CZW shows with Sekimoto and Kasai), plus Best Of Jon Moxley - two-hour-plus shoot video and more than 10 of his best matches as picked by Smart Mark Video (so mostly matches from CZW, IWA-MS and HWA)
in other news, I am still baffled by Schwartz's last post with the picture of Claudio Castagnoli

Re: Sir Schwartz's Unstoppable Pro Wrestling Thread
I saw on one of my free TV/Movie streaming sites they had three different Shimmer DVDs. I know nothing of them aside from it's all female. So.... is it hot? Is it bloody? Is it G.L.O.W. 2K?

Re: Sir Schwartz's Unstoppable Pro Wrestling Thread
I've never watched SHIMMER but I have seen plenty of matches with Sara Del Ray and Daizee Haze who I believe are both regular workers there; both are great workers. I can't get into women's wrestling in the same way, though. Maybe that makes me a fag, I don't know
I just read that Claudio Castagnoli is now in FCW (WWE developmental) as Antonio Cesaro... is Schwartz's post related to that?Broken Into Pieces wrote:latest DVD order arrived
