10 minutes of Covenant were screened yesterday for "Alien Day", and they are now floating around if you want to ruin it for yourself. I know you do, Ross.
Rewatched Prometheus and I still think it's a solid 8/10.
Alien: Covenant opens here on Tuesday and I have the day off so I may have to check it out. I watched the trailers and it all seems like been there, done that like what FVBTVS was saying a few pages back. I'm probably only excited to see Billy Crudup and Fassbender. Everyone is who?
just going on record to say Katherine Waterston is insanely attractive...she made inherent vice interesting and this short hair look is all the way good
she has the kind of open but squeezed face...you know if you locked eyes, infinite light would burn in the connection

Man, how about those alien life cycles
Yeah, no shit. BOOM, facehugger, BOOM, chestburster, BOOM, fully grown Xenomorph like five minutes later. That sure was the only thing about this movie that seemed to be moving too fast though, if you catch my drift.
Spoilers, sort of:

I gotta say I liked it way better than Prometheus - other than the ridiculously sped-up life cycle, at least the plot made sense, and there were a few pretty fun scenes. But more than anything, it's just fucking boring. For the last 20-odd minutes, I really wished the Xenomorph would just get it over with and slaughter everyone, but no, guess what, airlock. Slow. Moving. Airlock. *groan*
I'll also say that having thought about it now, I'm okay with this as an origin story. Genetically engineered by a psychotic robot for the sole purpose of wiping out the human race, i.e. Daddy Issues, the Creature Feature? Fine, whatever. Could've been worse.
But the bottom line is, it just isn't a very good movie, and most of it bored the fuck out of me.
