Oh, so that was the revolution that album ushered in? I missed that part.

What a turd.

And say what you will but i thought there were some good tunes on Resurrection Macabre and it showed some potential moving forward. Sure... No Van Drunen is barely Pestilence, but still.

Unbelievably hyped to no fucking end, to this day even...

It eventually grew on me to an extent, but I still don't understand why so many people lost their fucking shit when this hit the shelves. I was working at a record store at the time and when we played the record I thought people's over-enthused reactions were part of an elaborate candid camera prank, on me.

And, well, yeah

I like all of those albums, ESPECIALLY that Orchid.
I never said I didn't like them. This is a "seriously disappointing" thread. No pun intended

I'm just really skeptical that you "already had like ten copies of this album" when it was released. I don't give a fuck about ushering.

I think it could be my favorite... although its running time is a major factor. Live tracks don't count, right?

I never considered them to. If they were replaced with songs as strong as the rest of the album's it would be head and shoulders above the rest IMO

I like this better than Monotheist. Monotheist dropped off a lot near the end, but this album is solid throughout.

It's also my favorite but only by a very small margin. For the most part I like all the albums equally because all of them have their own unique charm. Even SOTS is great! Im not gonna dismiss really well written songs with great guitar riffs simply because it's their most popular and most accessible album.
