I've lost 20 lbs since this thread began a little over a year ago. No crash dieting, just changed my habits a bit. I'd have to say the 2 biggest factors have been portion control, and cutting way down on beer. If you've even paid moderate attention to my posts over the last year, you know I still have a good time, and tie one on occasionally, but I've pretty much kicked the daily 6-10 beer maintenance drinking to the curb. The portion control part was pretty easy too... If I'm cooking for myself, I've been trying to stick to a meat/protein the size of my fist, and a veggie. When eating out, skip the starches, and just leave out all the extra shit like appetizers, bread, etc. If I "have" to eat fast food, no fries. This hasn't been a perfect every day regimen or anything, and the weight has yo-yo'd slightly at times... but when I get off track for a while, I try to catch myself and get back to the plan right away. The weight is continuing to come off too, albeit a little slower. I realize there is nothing groundbreaking here, and I'm still far from a picture of health/fitness. I just wanted to pat myself on the back a little bit, and let Erik know that the beer part is easily doable, and this is coming from someone who had very similar drinking habits. We haven't heard from Erik about this in a while. How are you doing, Erik? Who knows... maybe you're doing better than me, and I'm just flapping my gums.

Good work, man. Being honest with yourself about what is necessary to lose weight and get in better shape is the only way to really do it.

I worked 7am - 7pm yesterday... At 4:45 am, my wife sucked my dick outta no where... Then on my drive to work (35 min), I ate a ham/cheese sandwich, two bananas, three cookies, two pepperetes, and a Tim Horton's plain bagel with butter... Then I clocked in. Is this bad?

Speaking of being honest with yourself....I am in the middle of keeping my oath to Ross much earlier in this thread. The last couple months have been a bit hectic with work and other stuff and I have badly slacked on my excercise and slipped back into some old habits with beer. It's not horrible but I did get a return of some beer belly and have exceeded a decent target weight zone. So...today is day 8 of no beer and reestablishing my excercise routine. I'm actually hoping to dip down a little further than my lowest weight last year.

I feel you for sure! Work has been really consuming lately, so less excercise, shittier sleep, slight belly chub --> way fewer burritos. I can't wait to have this paper done...

Not that I need to say it, but: you can do it!

I finally have a gym membership, but with my schedule the way it is I haven't been working out nearly enough to see any real improvement.

I'm not sure what sort of goals to set for myself since I'm not trying to lose weight, just want to get stronger and healthier. I get back home mid-September, so I'm looking for some reasonable 5-week goal.

I have a new life goal of trying to get to 100 non-stop burpees. I don't have a set goal time yet, and I'll never get to Riley level, but I would like to achive a decent time.

doing squats and deadlifts plus a few other things makes you feel good. And you get to eat as much as you want (actually you have to eat way more than you want)
I'm not the person who shold be making a post like this, but it's slow around here lately.

I've never done 100 non-stop burpees. I need breaks every 20 or so.

You could do like 666 burpees in a row

one every 10 seconds for 111 hours

no that's too long

you could do 69 in 11.5 minutes

wait that's not enough

i wonder what the fastest way to do the most burpees is

Post a cunting shirtless video of you doing the 300 kettlebell workout with at least a 20lb kettlebell, HapticVoid13

Maybe if you have a naturally super high metabolism, but most people should still keep it reasonable. I am capable of eating a massive amount of food, if I wanted to

eating more food is a definite bonus of lifting though, for sure :)
