I actually relate to this a lot. When I know I don't trust somebody in the media, I actually become more comfortable watching their shit. This is probably naive of me but it makes me feel like I can just filter all the bullshit narrative spin and hyper-focus on the important stuff. When it's a perspective I relate to more freely, I get angrier because I generally feel like in news media there are only bad examples of good guys.
