I saw the new uber logo show up in the "garbage" folder of my phone and it instantly shut down everything that was going on in my day. it's just fantastically bad. it looks like a power-up icon you'd see in Halo. apparently the CEO had a major part in the design, which is a huge punchline if you work in design or know anyone who does.

I realized what is so nauseating about it - they used the background color as "negative space" that wasn't actually background. it screams "this is an unfinished sketch" in the worst way. my fix:

still tacky, but at least it makes some sense.
