this reminds me of the insane tale where my sisters got free dessert for whatever reason from the server at a restaurant then the manager came over to ask how they were doing and they mentioned the free dessert and the manager dragged the server over by the ear (actually or practically, I am not sure) to shove his nose in the bad thing he did - berating the kid and tearing him down... I guess the server was an imbecile and just giggled the whole time even though the manager was furious? fucking weird

This coffee shop that my D&D group used to play at was bought out by some new franchises and we were playing there the night that this new entrepreneur douche couple were settling in. I think I bough something like a chicken caesar salad and there was no chicken in it (probably due to the old owners not giving a fuck at the end), so I take it back and the new owners start doing this over the top "demonstration of real customer service", saying shit like "now that's customer service" and totally humiliating the poor nice girls who worked there over this simple fucking matter. Just offer me a refund or a substitution without the pathetic dog and pony show asshole.

I don't know what kind of monster this douche nozzle thought he was impressing, but I wanted Conan to stab him in the face.

I remember the night I arrived in Vancouver for the first time. I had been travelling for 17 hours alone and I was fairly stressed/knackered. I recall sneekily checking my plane ticket after getting on the skytrain in Richmond to make sure that I had actually landed in Canada and not Hong Kong. I had no idea that there were so many Asians here. In saying that, my above post was quite silly and I believe I was referencing the previous post in the thread.

Not the least of which the huge artificially increased staffing levels when ever there is a visit from a big corporate stooge (like, as if they don't know this is a complete farce, they are informed a month in advance so they can plan for the fucking visit for god's sakes).......The absolute most absurd extreme of this was one particular misadventure working as a subhuman retail shelf stocker where some such district manager was making the rounds and happened to notice the over stock shelves for the isles where not all completely uniform in height......he made it a personal project that they all be completely redone to be exactly the same distance off the ground, so for the next several weeks we wasted extra man hours to take all the over stock off the top shelves (keep in mind this is for OVER STOCK, not actually shopable displays, like, shit that's 8 feet up in the air.), take the shelves out and lower then up or down a 1 or 2 inches and restock all the shit that was on them.

I get halfway over and take up BOTH lanes so I can set the pace and nobody passes me

I can't remember if it was this thread or the other, but I just stood behind two elderly ladies, both of whom spent at least $15 on scratch off lottery tickets. One paid entirely with a fistful of wadded and unorganized singles.

Even if old people hit the jackpot, what would they do? My grandpa I'm sure still plays his same numbers every week. He hasn't been further than 10 miles from his house in a decade. When I was 14, I once saw him in a grocery store and he gave me the most confused look as to who I was since he was seeing me in a context that was out of the ordinary.

Lottery ticket people and their "multiple fussy transactions" drive me fucking nuts.

I've (regretfully) lost my cool in the past when I've been in a hurry or been hungover and have just thrown my money on the counter and stormed out, and one time I swore at the lottery ticket douchebag.

I'm not proud of that.
