Maybe because of its proximity to The Bible series on History Channel, I got a sudden whiff of earnest Christianity when the slave priest prayed and the music went heavy on the strings, and I grew afraid that the whole series will be a sneaky way of converting us all under the guise of rad heathen Odin-lovers who smash crucifixes and spit out the holy eucharist and slash priest throats. Please don't let this happen.

Liked episode 5, but episode 6 was kinda wtf...
I do like the monk going native, though. Not what I was expecting.

Katheryn Winnick had some minor part in a CSI episode years ago, and I've had a boner for her ever since. So glad she's finally getting her day in the sun.

The writing and acting in this show is so far ahead of probably everything but maybe two shows on television right now. I can forgive historical misgivings for something this good.

Finally watched the first episode of season 2 and I loved it. Lots of groundwork laid down for the entire season and the preview after the show was .

Am I the only one watching this? Season 2 is so much better than the first one and the writing feels a lot more confident this season. The English King (Thomas Wayne from Batman Begins!) is such a schemer I love it.

I'm totally going to watch it and I'm very happy to hear it's an improvement from the first season. I just haven't had time yet because I, um, I'm playing Dark Souls 2 all the time. Lemme finish watching True Detective first.

Watched the very first episode the other day. Didn't really click with me. Does season 1 improve vastly as it goes on?
