That was the first footage I ever saw of Black Sabbath actually playing... I think I saw it on Night Flight actually. They also did a killer set on Don Kirshner's Rock Concert... I should scope for that on youtube... but I feel like I remember that Paris show footage first.

I didn't say it would be easy to accept, you don't have to like it, just accept that it's true.

I don't have a problem with anyone making a case for about 8 different Sabbath records being "the best one"... and Mob Rules is on that list...

It's true. Everybody has their own taste in Sabbath and no answer is incorrect

i don't think mob rules is their best album but it is their most NWOBHM-ish album and i love about 75% of the songs.

really hard to comprehend that they were doing this shit in 1970 when the Who was considered the heaviest band around. (metal 101, i know...)

also appreciate that two of my all time least favorite songs got posted as other people's favorites.

the band sounds so good live with dio, i'm sad i didn't get to see them.

i never bothered buying the remasters - do they sound much better?

Dio would have been proud that your 666th post was about him. know that and be comforted

I think I've posted this anecdote here before but here it is again. One of my best friends used to be a marketing guy for Rhino Records, who puts out a lot of their re-release stuff and they put out the last Heaven & Hell record. When they were preparing to release "The Devil You Know" they had plenty of meetings at the Rhino office that my friend would sit in on. It was always Dio, his wife, Iommi, his wife, and Geezer. Apparently Dio and Iommi's wives did all the business stuff while Dio and Iommi would concur and add tidbits of input here and there while Geezer would sulk in the corner the whole time sketching on drink napkins, obviously not wanting anything to do with the meetings. One time he left one of the napkins on the table and my friend grabbed it to see what he was sketching the whole time and it was just covered with swastikas of all sorts. I'm pretty sure my friend kept it, I should ask him about it and try to get a picture. Whenever I see Geezer now I just imagine him always thinking about swastikas.

seeing Ministry play this on the Psalm 69 tour reinforced it as my favourite Sab track - I tried finding a clip of them from that era but they don't do the intense heaviness justice in the slightest

I love how Pitch Shifter manage to make this sound nothing like the original

Kyuss' version of Into The Void with the bongo middle section from the split Man's Ruin 10" is pretty cool too.

I saw them in 2005. He wasn't as bad as that video, but his voice did crack from time to time. He was worse in 2004, honestly. He had a ton of health problems for both of those tours, and had to cancel a bunch of dates in 2004 where Halford fronted the band instead. Maiden were so much better than Sabbath in 2005, though.

When I saw Sabbath around that time, Ozzy's voice was fine and band delivered the goods. Can't say a negative thing about that show. And I seened the HEaven and Hell renamed Sabbath a couple times, and completely delivered.

same here... I agree with the fact that Dio had the much better pipes in the later years, but I'm far from being in the "fuck Ozzy" camp.
