I think it's a personification of the stuff he doesn't like about post-industrial society. To me it is a riff on Blake's "dark Satanic Mills". Although I am no poetry expert boy.

That's terrible. My cousin who lived in Caracas, Venezuela hung himself last year. For anyone to do such a thing, it's not them, but demons. My best friend also I grew up with 8 years ago killed himself by taking the black market animal tranq called Nembutal. He had a dose for me just in case "I wanted to do it with him."

Didn't know they still make Nembys. That shit was what they called "goofballs" in the 70s, IIRC. Had no clue it was still used in the 21st century.
