i switched from a reel mower (i'm green) to a plugin electric mower (i'm only slightly less green) this weekend and holy shit am i an asshole for not having done this sooner. it only stopped raining today and it was able to get through the damp prairie scruff that abuts/intrudes on our lawn without hesitation. the only downside is that i had to buy a 12-gauge 100ft cord to reach all the corners of our lot, which wasn't expensive or even unreasonable, but like, 14- or 16-gauge is just so much cheaper... it's just something i noticed is all. home depot cashier noticed too, and asked my favorite question in some time: "what, uh... are you extending?"

There's a small peter pan part of me that still hasn't accepted the idea of needing to care about mowing a lawn ever, despite being the owner of one for like a month now

What the fuck is a tree requirement?
Most HOA require a front and back yard tree. Digging weeds and grass out of tree wells is always fun.

I did a walk through today for a house I'm looking at buying. The outside is in great condition, brand new roof, front and side porch, siding and windows. The inside needs a lot of work though, bad pipes, sagging floors and old drywall. The house includes everything though, so I get all this nice antique furniture. Its full of old lady junk too. I'm excited to go through and find a hidden stash of cash.
