Know what, people who yell/shout in general can fuck off. Unless you're in a loud environment like a nightclub or factory or whatever other setting where yelling is appropriate/necessary, it is really irritating. If you can't tell a story or express an opinion without working yourself up to the point when you increasingly start raising your voice, you suck.

I'd heard of "young turks" but had no idea who/what it was
all the top videos on their channel are weapons-grade clickbait, soooooooo?
I am a loud guy so I feel like I might have to defend them on principle...

Young Turks is the biggest left wing youtube channel, and as I left winger I find it annoying that everyone who works there are unlikable morons with grating personalities. That rant probably belonged in one of the (ir?)rational hatred-threads, but I was too lazy to look for them.
If Ross is incapable of speaking with an indoor voice, I'd probably find him annoying IRL.

Not really, Bill Maher is just a stereotypical obnoxious hackneyed comedian, while Ross is more of an uncanny valley weirdo.

The Chianti and fava beans line is apparently an obscure referencing to an anti psychotic medication that you can’t take with alcohol or legumes. He’s making a joke that he’s not taking his meds.

dude the movie is seriously at once over the top and insanely subtle. all the men staring at starling? the point of view perspective when she interacts with men? how it's totally flipped around to a murderer's perspective when she's utterly vulnerable and literally lashing out at the darkness? ugh i can't stand how good it is
the geographic imprecision used to describe the moths' origins by a man eventually, and confidently, led astray?!?!?!? IT'S ALL SO FUCKING GOOD

I know a few people at that "concert" right now (or, they will be tomorrow night)
they have to give the tickets/passes to other tech bros at some point in the evening so said tech bros can see MC hammer
so I guess metallica is opening for MC hammer

I fucking adore Silence of the Lambs. I think it should be discussed much more frequently whenever people try to reassess the canonical "greatest films" list. It was ahead of it's time as a film about women, and came right before an era of far louder, less articulate or honest films about that same subject. Not talking about all movies obviously, just the oncoming wave of 90s soft-serve girl power.
I've always really admired the way Clarice is written. She isn't a convenient person at all. She wants to succeed in spite of social expectation, to satisfy herself - but also to win the approval of Jack, Hannibal and her dead father. In many other cases that second urge would be politicized unrealistically, and turned into a binary or some kind of unfortunate choice. It's a wonderful example of having your cake, eating it, and coming out with a superior story as a result.
I have to call bullshit on the MAOI thing with the census taker line. I've heard it a few times but it just seems like such a reach to me. What's weird about it is that since I heard someone mention it, the whole bit of dialogue has started to seem weird, like it actually does need some explanation. Why would a census taker give you a test?
If you guys really want to impress me, explain the rings in the movie. They pop up a lot. The most glaring one to me is at the end, when Crawford takes Clarices' hand during the ceremony. The camera looks strangely, directly at their hands, and she's got a heart-ring right where you might stick one if you were engaged.
I've seen/read a few analyses mention the American flags, but I still don't know what they mean. I used to think it was some hippie thing about America being violent, but these days I tend to see them as little gnomes pointing out the path to the FBI.

the MAOI thing can either be a wink to the audience or his first test to clarice; i tend to think the latter, because she caught some other games
