That looks cool as shit dude. Like something Dracula would play. Maybe a weapon that shoots out of the 1960s Batmobile.

When did I lie about my age or marital status??? Got any proof??

If you think I’m fake I would say ask someone who knows me if I’m real or not, bitch...problem is all the people from this board who knew me ( Amelia and nailedrightin) are all dead.

I’m pretty sure I remember Amelia pointing me out to Introvert at a show once. He could verify that I am indeed who I claim to be.

I got bored and wanted to give myself a fun project so I decided to try and clean up my BC Rich ripoff shitbox and see if I can turn it into a decent guitar. Here's what it's looking like now after cleaning up the knobs, the bridge, and scraping most of the stickers and tape residue off the top of the body.

Image
Finished cleaning and then did my first ever set-up. Adjusted the neck with the truss rod, adjusted the action with the bridge saddles, then did the intonation, and I'm shocked at how much better it plays and how solid it sounds.

That cleaned up nice - EBA is right, it does have that 60's Batmobile vibe. Dig it!

I also used pandemic time as well as the wealth of info and videos on setup to learn all the pieces of proper set up, wish I knew years ago what I know now.

I had a piece of crap les paul via sears catalog in the 80s guitar that someone gave me which was full on unplayable and I stuffed in the rafters of my garage for over 15 years. I was cleaning out the garage so figured fuck it, can I get it playable/ use its complete shittiness to learn some skills? Frets were rusty, so step one was sanding them back to looking like a fret. It has severe buzz up the neck, so next some truss rod relief--- was pretty excited when the fret buzz was gone. Wasn't perfect, the action was now pretty high so next easy thing was the bridge height (pretty easy with les paul style, without individual saddles), and finally did the intonation. I also rehabbed another cheapo telecaster style guitar, sanding and refinishing neck and headstock, swapped out tuning keys, pickups pots and switch. That one I learned a lot about grounding issues and extra hum in single coil pickups (in this case the new pickups used surgical tubing instead of spring--which meant bridge tray wasn't grounding, trouble shot that with some jumper clips, and added extra ground direct to the bridge). My soldering skills still are amateur hour--- so much appreciation for all the sweat shop workers that do this job for all the technology we use.

I've yet to attempt any work on pickups or any of the interior electronics on a guitar but I have been youtubing how to replace pickups and if I get the right tools I don't think it should be that hard. I'm thinking of putting a Hot Rails in the bridge of my strat, and replace my HH tele bridge with a Duncan JB. But these are longer term projects down the road when I have some extra cash. That's awesome that you were able to salvage two guitars and also learn a lot while doing it.

I've been looking into replacing pickups too. I really almost never play guitar, only pick the thing up to record small bits for non-rock tracks (typically).
A few years back I ripped out one of the pickups - didn't really have a reason, just saw that it was something some people did.

Earlier in the year I was trying to teach myself the absolute basics of pinch harmonics, and I was doing okay - it seemed like something was off though, like I was 'getting' it but the amount of sustain never really felt right, it was just the suggestion of the sound.

Of course I eventually find out that I'm supposed to be doing it right over the missing pickup............ fug

Anyway been looking around, apparently they sell some pickups which are specifically designed FOR sustain? I had always thought that was something which was added to the signal later, like basically compression... or that it came from the way you held the strings down on the fretboard, like wiggling them over time.

It’s antifa working in conjunction with the reverse vampires ( they are also recant vampires so you have to recant your recant, like an incantation, but you’re casting a recantation). The inter dimensional child molesters that Alex Jones warned us about traveled back in time to plant the seed in the minds of the Dutch to travel to Africa where they would feel inferior to the superior strength of indigenous people and they would become too depressed to perform physical labor so they had no choice but to start the slave trade which would one day lead to the evil Marxist idea of the 1619 project that anointed Donald J Trump would fight against to stop the destruction of America. Jacob Wohl was going to do a press conference exposing it before he became a political prisoner.
