That actually looks kinda decent ...(except for the shuckin' n' jivin' black lady who will probably set back the position of African Americans to some point in the 50s)...

I'm into it - paul feig's movies make me laugh and IIRC they don't promote circumcision so I don't have any ethical issues with them

bridesmaids and spy ruled, the heat was mediocre; hard to tell how this one will go since all the broad laughs tend to end up in the trailers

he's better than judd apatow, and melissa mccarthy has charisma...so yeah, game on

its weird though, why do an all female cast and then not continue to reshuffle the deck a little bit and freshen up more of the formula? it looks competent and safe and probbaly wont be a total disaster..?

the race retread is definitely perplexing

I think I hate the new ghost effects; way too opaque

that's one thing crimson peak did reasonably well, but even those were too hefty for my tastes

More or less, at least in the original Ernie Hudson seemed like a bright blue color guy who could hold his own with the original trio (remember his conversation with Ray in Echo-1 where he points out what's going on).

HATED Bridesmaids btw, but maybe I need to rewatch it. Just came off as a lot of the same tired dick and pussy and fart jokes masked in "freshness" since women were delivering them instead of men.

I think the trailer looks pretty stupid but there can be an inverse correlation between quality of movies and their trailers when it comes to comedy

Doesn't look good to me. Actually, pretty annoying. To be fair I pretty much hate all modern comedies.

I think I'm actually so convinced that I'm going to hate it that I've circled all the way back around to almost giving it a fair chance?

The first Ghostbusters is such a timeless classic and just an all-around brilliant movie to me that I probably wouldn't even be willing to accept a remake with the cast of, say, Anchorman. It's not possible. So really, I don't care what they're doing. This movie doesn't exist, and I can't even get angry at it, so I'm just sort of pleasantly surprised the ghosts look like something from a Ghostbusters movie and there's green goo and a hearse. Fuck it.

Everything I loved as a kid was apparently wrong and has to be destroyed now.

Pirates, cowboys, ghostbusters. Have they already destroyed medieval knights?

I can envision a future where I watch this at least once.
