Blocks qua payloads of data can include quite literally anything. If you get a wild hair up your ass and decide to buy some Wrapped Cryptopunks, only to discover that some on-chain event includes a bunch of John Podesta family photos if you get my drift, you can't undo that. It's on chain! This toxic asset has to sit somewhere (meaning somebody is left holding the walnut sauce) and cannot be meaningfully remediated in an append-only environment.

That's why I am in disbelief of Egon Musk's occasional illusions of grandeur re: putting X née Twitter on chain, because like... no? That's beyond idiotic lol

Multiple dipshits have tried to argue once something is block chained it's just "in the wind" so to speak and it no longer matters if it was illegal or copyrighted material to begin with.
