The west most definitely 'committed suicide' and it did that when it embraced silent majority conservatism. It made a bunch of stupid trash and their squalid social leavings feel secure but I think its clear that most any sense of prideful social advancement basically died in the 80s. Now we have brave McDonalds fed Sheepdogs who can use violence to protect us from 'the muslim hoards' because we have nothing to offer young muslims, or young fucking anyone except vaguely tolerated hedonism and token social advancements that affect less and less people. There is no grand project of the west for immigrants to join, they are expected to jump for joy and then crouch down with the rest of us in this meaningless latrine society. It should be even more clear to an outsider.

That sort of condition makes it very easy for young, slightly privileged members of the dominant social group to get nasty with their delusions. If anything white privilege is the privilege to stick your head your ass and never have anyone forcibly pull it out.
