Yeah he was the band's first drummer. Nice guy but he was a drunk bum hanging out with portland street trash. He used to show up at my old apartment years ago and talk weirdo shit.

Spent an entire morbid angel/incantation/nile/thy infernal show drinking at the satyricon bar with some schizo talking about the euro.

2 things:

1. Thread title is misleading. It makes it seem like JHD is dead but he's quite alive. Just talked to him today.

2. Mark was a weird dude but he was a fun guy to hang with.

I never had the opportunity to do bung tunes with mark on drums but he was a great player. It's a shame that he had given up drumming. Definitely a unique character that's still missed in our crummy local scene.
