my top one is the insight that a big part of the price is right's mission is to advertize the items for which people guess prices. I believe the "guess closest without going over" thing (which makes zero... ZERO fucking sense as a way to guess something) is a mechanism to cause the guessed prices to skew low, giving the viewing audience the impression that everything is slightly cheaper than it actually is. there may also be a secondary effect where the "too high" guessed price gets a negative connotation, further making the product's actual, low(er) price seem like a good thing. all of this makes the product appealing because of it's low price (and even lower guessed prices) = marketing success

My house is worth four times what I paid for it. I'm tempted to sell it and just live in a trailer in the bad part of town( other than the fact a slum is probably more expensive than my mortgage is now) Maybe I can move in with Thor and be his butler.
