Completely agree. Love Steely Dan.

The whole discog is on Spotify also.

FUCK.

Citizen Dan used to be on there....

That must've been within the last month that it was ripped off Spotify.

i watched that one earlier today. it confuses me- it's not the album version but it's all out of sync. so they recorded it live so that they could pantomime live to a recorded live track?

or maybe it is the album version but mixed way different?

Christ, it's an awesome version of the song. The shit people can find to complain about sometimes is really something else.

I wasn't trying to be dicky, but it's the album version of the song... it just reminds me of the 70's-80's variety shows I watched as a kid, and even at the time I knew something was up. I can't find it right now, but I remember watching KISS on one of those shows and seeing them play the exact same version of Deuce that I heard on the record and calling bullshit to my brother... anyways, not to derail your SD thread. here's an incredibly awesome recent version of Deacon Blues.

here's a full show from when I saw Steely Dan in Niagger Falls a few years back...for bootleg enthusiasts only, but for me its adequate-- for what live show really sounded like that night. Keith Carlock on drums.

Whether it's due to the mixing or a different recording, you can hear the background vocals and solos much more clearly on that version. That's what I like about it.

Late on this bandwagon but glad this thread has exposed me to this band. I remember being a teenager and making fun of my best friends dad for listening to this band. Now I fully appreciate.

I have listened to this band since I was a child and it just gets better. For my 18th birthday, my parents got me the Reelin In The Years bio.

A true treasure.

For the uninitiated here is the Citizen Steely Dan boxed set of discs. I uploaded it in 2007 so it might be AAC or something, sorry:
