I had to swab myself and my 3 year old when she had a fever for a day.... Wasn't too bad.

Day care was only closed for 2 weeks in March 2020.
There has been one positive case in that time, and it led to a 1 week shutdown of that classroom (not ours).

Oldest starts public school kindergarten in Sep....gen pop is going to be interesting.

FYI healthy adults under 60 can sign up as a living liver donor, and the primary requirement is blood type; pediatrics have been doing partial adult-to-child donations for well over a decade now, and if you're in good enough health, you can quite literally save a life with nominal impact to your long-term health and survival (they take a quarter or less of what you've got, and it regenerates!)

Regarding ivermectin: there is a moderate small amount of low quality evidence that it is actually effective treatment, but that is for human doses under the supervision of a doctor. EDIT: Just found out that one of the biggest studies that was part of the meta-analysis I was reading has been retracted because of some serious data integrity issues, and maybe even plagiarism?

Did you know that is comes in an alfalfa flavored paste? That is not the human version.

The human version of the drug does still need to be studied. I am personally hopeful that we will see ivermectin working well but we hoped that hydroxychloroquine would work and that ended in a huge bust.

That's sort of it, though: the work to determine whether ivermectin is a good adjunct therapy has been going on. The current bleating about "censorship" is because people are so fuckin whole-hog in their reactionary death cult that they will literally chug horse deworming Go-Gurt because of memes.
