Mothra was like the one monster in the Godzilla movies I didn't like as a kid. I mean, if there's going to be a giant insect, then why not something cool like a scorpion or a spider or a hornet or something? I dunno.

They somehow managed to make her cool in that last movie though, the one after the Bryan Cranston one.

The ending where Mothra ups the Godzilla attack was super emotional and I'm not afraid to admit that I shed a tear for the Serizawa hollow earth scene

That movie was a mess but they got some great moments in there. I suspect it was over-written by too many people, but one voice in there really had their head screwed on straight and their heart in the right place (amongst other shitty platitude body-part metaphors). I enjoyed it for sure, always nice seeing Vera Farmiga yelling about whatever.

Of all the badass monsters, the only monster to get in the win column, vs Godzilla, was mothra.
