When I put that machine together, SSD prices were way, way higher than they are now. As far as PC's are concerned, I built this back in Fall of '07, and I don't see myself spending any more money on it until at LEAST 2012. It's treated me extremely well, but I don't game enough on it to really care about having ZOMG BEST GRAPHICS anymore. I mostly use my macbook pro these days.

you sure that's not just because you have a wicked fast rig and not simply because of an overpriced hard drive?

Yes, as I ran my rig without it for around 6 months. It chopped around 10 seconds off of my LOTRO load time. I only keep games, apps, and OS on the drive, and keep everything else on my other drives.
