I'm a big fan of the first two releases, but I can't even get through an entire song. When they released the single I hated it from the first five seconds I heard of it. Nuclear Blast probably pushed them in this direction.Dann O))) wrote:Sweet tap dancing christ do I hate that Fleshgod Apocalypse.

Yeah, pathetic was the wrong word. I really don't get trying to be the kvltest band in black metal when you have a Big Cartel Internet shop and advertise tours on message boards. What other bands of this Black Twilight Circle do you recommend? I was thinking of picking up that Volahn LP but not sure what else is worth my time and money.Bored013 wrote:>Surely, these albums would sell out with a limited run of vinyl and a small pressing on CD. Tapes fucking suck. I guess it would have been cute in the early 90s but in 2011, it's kind of pathetic.
I can't say it's pathetic, I admire their ethic/aesthetic, but I know a lot of their "ideology" is derived from what they took away from the whole early French black metal thing...and that did make sense at the time. Now? Not so much.
Just checked the Crepusculo Negro website and it does say Within... DLP coming soon, . I'll be happy if they get it out within a year.

I'm almost certain that, a few years ago, someone here was in the market for broodle deth metuhl mixed with classical. Is that person still lurking about? Here it is, buddy. FGA.
Me, I'm a sucker for most things metal/classical... And this FGA bears investigation...

It took a moment to get used to, but it's nowhere as cheesy as one might assume. I pretty much like it, and the "classical" music blend in rather well. Apart from this, it's blast-beating like hell!

Re: Any good new death metal out there?
Just snagged that reissue of the first Mitochondrion album and it absolutely rules. I think I prefer the balls-out/kitchen sink wall of weirdness of Parasignosis but Archaeon is good shit too. The remaster helps tremendously. I hope this band doesn't wait 4 years before putting out another record.

Re: Any good new death metal out there?
this is gud! the vocals r less blatant Cranial Impalement copycat, but i like them moar. 1 thing thats for sure is the guitars sound better than their last full-length. out of the 100's of riffs on that song,a few actualy almost stood out this time. i still dont thnk they quite hav reached the quality of the bands they idolize (like disgorge or deeds). their getting there. mayb by next album.GoreyGibbler wrote:Paulo is gonna dig this. I'm glad that this thread was bumped. I completely missed that news on Necrotic Disgorgement last time.
I was listening to Painted Rust earlier today and I don't get why that band broke up so quickly.

I forgot if it's been discussed, but that Flourishing album is awesome.
