why thank you james that's very nice of you to say ! i recorded it with garageband '06 ! i think i'm going to go buy a bass guitar in the near future, and/or maybe a synthesizer ? i'm enjoying playing music a lot lately but i don't know anything at all about this side of it. i just know when i hear things that sound nice to my ears.

so what mic/interface/preamp/etc are you using on that? vocal sound is fucking wonderful!

my shit used a vintage green bullet (which sounds absolutely NO better than a red howler, i've discovered) for the phased and cleans stuff, and a plane jane sm58 for the growls in the middle.

it's a Rode NT1-A condenser into preamp (The Brick) into the soundcard... I am pretty happy with how it came out, I just stood there and growled, no shevil tricks (fractional cupping) necessary

all the guitars were tracked with brand new strings which really helped sell the squealies

real talk: i'm a shameless semi and full cupper on the 58, in addition to non. i think of it sorta of like the charm of that mic, and just part of a pallet of techniques available to it, allowing you 3 stages of effect/dynamic modulation in addition to you own voice without requiring a multi-effect. to me i think it's just using the mic as an instrument, no more cheating than tapping. but then again i'm quite obviously not trying to make traditional metal most of the time anymore, either.
