Don't be ashamed.
that i've never played it or that i'm going to play it?

i played the first 45 minutes or so and while it's obviously a dumbed-down disappointment for fans of the first game, it still seems... playable? obviously i'm too soon in to really know.
if there's anybody in the world who'd be fucking unobservant enough to actually damage themselves with trap-soap I guess it'd be the guy with dialup in 2007

Heh, I just figured you were ashamed to be playing it period. May take another run through it myself before HR comes out.

hah yeah, it's the "playing it at all" part. although i think all told i spent like $2 on it so the amount of shame attached is minimal

For those unaware, Seth Killian is apparently a community manager for Capcom.

this thing is pretty gorgeous and listening to carmack talk about lag/response time really makes me want to play it but i'm still not interested in vehicle combat to the extent that it seems integral to the game.

RAGE is yet another game that will be picked up down the road at bargain price because there's just too much other stuff to keep up with. BF3, skyrim, and dark souls are going to just take all of my gaming time for a good long while

I believe so. Not sure the extent of vehicle combat...probably some side missions here and there. I'll be happy if it's 30% or less vehicles, maybe even as high as 40% if it handles smoothly and is fun to play.

I'm going to substitute Rage for BF3. I know, sounds crazy but I have an undying hate for EA these days. Plus, I think a lot of people are going to pass on Rage ("Borderlands clone :yerma: ") which will make me a little sad for Carmack. He deserves better.

While I was disappointed in Doom 3 (because it was so different from "proper" Doom) id has yet to make a game I don't really like. Preordered!

$5.99 and the controls are painfully outdated but not too bad once you get used to it. The game is awesome.

This is supposed to be pretty great.

i was actually looking at both of those things. hm.

i heard somebody describe the crusader games as "isometric deus ex" and that got my attention. i'll probably do the Zeboyd 2-pack first.

after i do a Duke3D playthrough since i'm on a kick of these silly early fps games

It’s not enough that the screen flashes all kinda of horrid shades of red when your taking a pounding, you’ll now have to deal with a crazy blurring effect letting you know your getting smashed…..Or rather ‘suppressed’.

“When you lay down fire in close vicinity to an enemy, the incoming barrage will show up as a graphical blur effect on his screen to stress him and let him know it’s not safe to pop out from behind cover,” Said Kertz.

Old captain support also has a handy bipod attached to his LMG. When near walls or anything he can slap the bipod onto, firing accuracy and stability sky rockets with moment obviously taking a hit. If Bad Company 2 is anything to go by, then you aren’t going to last all that long before the nades coming raining in!
Sounds like a good feature. They're REALLY hammering people about this requires team work and not the CoD way of playing. I only have to pay $10!

Currently playing Thief: Deadly Shadows. First time plowing through the Thief series actually. Despite the dated graphics, these games are immersive as hell. It's been a long time (Portal 2 excluded) since I've found myself playing for 3+ hours without even noticing.

Not sure I ever 180-ed on a game this quick. Shadows of the Damned was going so well, even got to run across my girl friend's giant tits. Then, well, fucking BIG BONER goddamn, um, sucks. Not pun intended. I'm done with this game for the night, going to start my new Mass Effect 2 game.

i kinda want to play Daggerfall again.. even though I couldn't get it to run in windows 7 when I tried it a while back. I think i tried it with dosbox too. I think I may eventually buy an old shitty laptop just to play old PC games.

I've dabbled with the first one back in the day when all I could care about was "HOLY MOLY I'M PLAYING A GAME THIS IS SO REALISTIC WOW DID I JUST SHOOT THAT GUY WITH AN ARROW?". But I've gone through all of them now and I must say it's probably one of my favourite series overall. What is it with that fourth one? Is it ever going to come out?

And yeah, Mr. Blight, Oblivion is definitely worth a shot. I've only played it for the first time last year and I still was blown away by all the freedom and stuff you can do. If you can get past the shitty graphix.
