if there's anybody in the world who'd be fucking unobservant enough to actually damage themselves with trap-soap I guess it'd be the guy with dialup in 2007

Care to elaborate?
All the games are mediocre and do absolutely nothing to stand out among the overcrowded shooter field. Dull and weak guns, been there done that setting, throwaway story, shitty mp. No one would give a shit about these games if they weren't exclusive. For $5, sure I'd play one but I curse the day I paid more than that for a Resistance game. If you're looking for a game to kill 5-10 hours, there are plenty of much better options than any Resistance game.

Gears of War 3 at $60 is a much better value than Resistance at $20, that's for sure.

I got the first Gears for free, and I still feel like I invested too much in it. What a fucking snoozefest that was.

i sort of liked the 50s city alien invasion thing for a few levels. i definitely think you can get $20 worth of fun out of that game. i got it for $30 and never regretted it

Played through the Resistance 3 campaign last week and enjoyed myself, wouldn't pay full price for it but when it drops it's worth checking out. Probably the best of the series.

I didn't think so. Let me know when it happens.
In gameplay style, I'd say Dead Space has captured the third person shooter horror genre pretty well. What are your feelings on the Racoon City game? They'll finally let you shoot and move! Haha
Resistance 2 as Riley said can be fun in the first week you get it, but its just mer. If you want trophies you can go with Resistance 2 over One, but I'd say pass. I bought the game and it sat for a year before I got rid of it.

i did that today as well although the at the store said they "can't guarantee me the collector's edition" :x

the only reason i preordered it there is because i'm broke-ish and i had store credit. if i find some money between now and then i'll cancel it and get it from amazon

nice case, art book, strategy guide, behind the scenes dvd, soundtrack, and it costs the same as the regular version

it's actually not totally breaking my heart if i don't get it since i'm only actually paying $30 for it, but it would be nice

Ahh ok. If per-order contained something like gauntlets of making the game easier I'd have to take immediate action myself.

i'm just assuming that there will be some kind of labyrinthine upgrade system that will require charts of stats and several hours of studying to not goof up somehow. and that a strategy guide might save me some headaches.

but i'm sure it will be on the wiki within hours of release if not sooner so i might be overreacting

Resistance 3 demo: yeah, um, no thanks.

Ace Combat Assault Horizon demo: who the hell still plays games like this? I probably would've jizzed my pants all over this when I was ten and thought Afterburner was the greatest thing ever created through technology (okay, minus the QTE shit, I probably would've hated that back then too), but now, uh, bleh. Maybe if this was a ten dollar download.

Resident Evil 4 HD: I've only played it very briefly, so let's just say I can see why people thought RE5 borrowed a little too much from this... it's literally the same game, down to the menu sound effects, except with a less retarded inventory system.

ico/shadow of the colossus collection is out this tuesday ! sounds like they did a really nice job on the HD too, instead of the hatchet job RE4 got ?

i've never played ico so i was a bit bummed that this review is full of spoilers, and spoilers for ico in the SotC portion of the review as well, SO IF YOU HAVEN'T PLAYED BOTH OF THE GAMES DON'T READ THE REVIEW, but the point is eurogamer gave it a 9/10 and raved about the visuals

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011- ... -hd-review

and if you haven't played SotC you absolutely have to

I always wanted to play Ico but my PS2 was stolen before I learned of it. Does anyone know if PSC2X supports it?

I never played Ico either so I preordered it as well just based on the love you folks here have shown for it. Is it a long game? I need to start putting all these games into a proper order of which to play next.

I'm getting burnt out on Dead Island. I think I need to stop doing all these side quests and just move forward through the main campaign. Yahzee was right about it getting boring.
