best multiplayer game - Portal 2? uhhhhhhhhhhhhh it's actually co-op? BF3 gets the shaft

best fighting game - mortal kombat. over MVC3? :fp:

and why are the nominees for the best PS3 games all PS3 exclusives and the ones for xbox are mixed? and skyrim isn't listed in either but win's game of the year?

the VGAs will never be relevant. only thing they're good for is new trailers

Good Lord, Blood 2, how many times are you going to crash?! This would be unplayable if not for quick-saves, which in itself has become slightly odd for me since I've been trained to except checkpoints for years now.

I use a mod called Darkact that vastly improves the vanilla single player, yet I suspect it may be adding to the crashes. It never did back in the day though.

As for why Rememdy changed their mind about the PC edition of the game, here’s their explanation: “We weren’t going to release a PC version… then we took an arrow to the knee."

:mastoman: <3 Remedy. Can't wait to get back into this game. Negative replies not needed.

Did you like it more the second time?

I did anotherp play through and actually was a lot less critical of it. I'm beginning to think my initial thoughts of "Well, this is pretty good" was simply back-lash from how much I rode the bat-dick on the first game. Nothing was going to be able to stand up to AA cause of how much I loved it. But on a second go-around, I think I was unfairly harsh to this new one. It's pretty fucking awesome.
i actually did the second playthrough right after i finished my first and i resented the fact that i had to do all the fucking side missions again for 100% so i just hated it more

i had a total blast doing all the combat and predator challenges in this one though-- when i got the perfect freeflow combo trophy for this one i celebrated in true villainous fashion

was thinking about picking up a couple of games. I've been so buried in my MW3, LA Noire, RDR, and Assassin's Creed, was thinking of changing it up considering these are on sale.

Arkham Asylum - $17, has great reviews
Mafia II - $14, so so reviews, but not much play after you finish it, thinking of just waiting for GTA V?

Any opinions on these games?

edit: I would trade in some of my other games, but you can only trade in one for one sort of, and get a small discount on the purchased game in Winnipeg at EB games, or Game Stop. Damn Loserpeg city by-law.

Arkham Asylum is basically a must-have unless you have some sort of aversion towards good games.

Mafia II - couldn't even finish the demo without falling asleep. I also hear it doesn't have much of what people like about the GTA games, either.

Stay away from Mafia II. It looks pretty but is very shallow for being a sandbox game. The story fucking sucked, too.

there was a ton of back and forth about that on the net. noted. I'm just going to wait for that GTA V to come out for my next Rockstar type game.

Not a bad idea but you should be able to find Red Dead Redemption (> GTA IV) used and very cheap these days.

I finished RDR, undead RDR a while ago, plus LA noire. love the rockstar games. want more from that group. GTA IV was good too, but was very curious about that Mafia II, because it was trying to be that type of game. oh well, I guess they failed. just picked up Arkham, can't wait to play it.
