RPS: So this interview isn’t a complete downer, what about the other side of the coin – stuff you’re proud of in the game that people might never notice. Recently I was interviewing Randy Pitchford, and he started enthusing about how he’d created the physics of the moon in Borderlands 2, but that’s something most players will never be aware of. Is there anything like that in XCOM?
Jake Solomon: For me personally, there are two things that I get a major kick of, that I spent way too much time on but mattered to me. One is the random mission names. Whenever you go on a mission in XCOM, I have this mission name generator. I’m a fan of 80s metal and early Metallica, Celtic Frost, really hardcore early metal stuff, so the missions basically generate the names of early death metal albums. So there’s this mish-mash of metal terms, and you get stuff like ‘Operation Crimson Sceptre’ and ‘Operation Bloody Thorn’. When I’m watching people play the game, I always, always get a kick out of getting to see what the mission name is.
Picking it up after work. Pre-ordered from Lamestop because of 2 early release DLC characters. I'm pretty sure I read Harada said he hates pay DLC and they aren't go to cost anything. Only costumes and stages will be pay DLC. I might be wrong though.
i decided to play some gta iv over the weekend and i got into a taxi and a BATHORY song came on.
was that always in the game?
if there's anybody in the world who'd be fucking unobservant enough to actually damage themselves with trap-soap I guess it'd be the guy with dialup in 2007

Were you playing the Lost and Damned expansion? I never noticed it until I played that. Shooting wop gangsters with a sawed off shotgun while riding a motorcycle and Call From The Grave as the soundtrack was awesome.

Yeah sure they play Bathory on the radio in a taxi just how like everybody on TV loves the Stooges...
Rockstar usually has, well maybe not good music, a nice variety of music. Sure it would never happen irl but imagine playing a GTA game with nothing but top 40 pop and nowadays country. Barf. At least they didn't add a Sublime song like one of those Saint's Row games.
Hell yes. People are speculating it's not an ip tied to any publisher because Obsidian is revealing it themselves and it could be some sort of Kickstarter.
Speaking of rpgs, IGN is doing a list of the top 100

So, the extra expensive version of the Wii U contains a whopping 32 GB of memory.
My iPod is double that, and my phone equals that. Hell, I have a $5 flash drive some where that's barley less than that. I think Nintendo done Dreamcast-ed. It done CD-i-ed itself.
