lately been playing a lot of pinball arcade on vita/ps3 and super hexagon on iphone. love the pinball stuff even though zen pinball's physics are more realistic, i like the actual pinball tables in farsight's game. i'm pretty goddamn good at a few tables. ranked top 100 in a few of them actually, but when i played the actual tables i didn't play worth shit. makes me want to save up a buy a really nice mid 90's williams pin. maybe one day.

super hexagon is pretty awesome for an iphone game. other than the cave shooters i don't play shit on there really. it's only .99 so pick it up if you want something to kill a few minutes. simple concept. navigate rotating shapes without getting hit. sounds lame, but it's really awesome actually. it's on sale too so if you want it get it while it's .99 instead of the normal 2.99 i think. just playing these 2 games i managed to kill about 12 hours in airplanes and layovers the other day and will probably do the same flying back to colorado in a few days.

I'm once again thinking about figuring how to hook up an NES emulator to my TV-- I really want to play some of those old games on a television. Of course, at this point, I could just pick up a Wii for 60 bucks and just use the virtual console...

All you really need is one cable and the right USB pad. I used to use an S-Video cable, but since everyone has a big fancy flatscreen these days you could probably just get an HDMI cable or whatever.

Computer -> cable -> TV, its that simple

If you snag a wii, you will have to either mod it so that you can play whatever you want on it, or pay for each game individually. It sounds honorable and all but all the good games are like 7-10 bucks a pop, starts to add up after a while... for ROMs.
