I really wish Dishonored had a quick-save function on the PS3. I'm saving almost every two minutes in the game trying to be as sneaky as possible. Most of the time I end up having to kill one out of every three guys unfortunately.

Not even close to being done with the first mission yet, as far as I know. It's really weird-- I usually have no patience when it comes to video games, but on this one I find myself resotring the game time after time to get it right, and it's part of the fun.

Just go with it! Getting it right is what second playthroughs are for. Or are you going for a no kill playthrough? I'm trying to keep the Chaos level low but's it's so fun lopping off heads.

Seriously, use the Heart next to every npc you can. I've seen complaints about the characters in the game being somewhat bland (and they are a little bit) but the Heart is such a genius tool in this game and makes all the characters much more interesting.

That doesn't make a lot of sense, man. Most kickstarters for awesome games I've seen offered a copy of the game for less than the retail value of a regularly funded game. You're also influencing the development of the game itself. It's not like they're putting up kickstarters and saying "give us money and we'll make a MYSTERY GAME! You can't know what it is until we're finished!!" You know exactly what it is you're paying for so if you're willing to put up the money for it, it's probably something completely up your alley. And if it doesn't get totally funded, you get your money back anyways.

there's a ton of different kinds of games out there that aren't getting made and that wont get made and this is a way that they can. if the product is garbage then you basically put a long ass preorder on a garbage game. how many times has that happened? what a weird angry stance!

I can see both sides of that. If you put a pre-order on a on a game a few months in advance and then video reviews start rolling out and it's obviously the worst piece of shit ever made then you can switch your pre-order cash or cancel it. Not really an option if you gave $50 to this company and the same thing happens. Or they fold and that's it ? $50 is sort of a lot of money to make that gamble with and I don't think I'd take it for a video game unless it was a series I really loved and I was very confident that the release would happen, and soon. That said, if they made $5 or $10 pledges count toward a pre-order, that's a risk I would be pretty comfortable with.

On the other hand, I think it's sort of weird to write off kickstarter entirely because it's a great tool for artists to use as a direct line of support with their fans, cutting out the fatlapses of the world. And make no mistake, fuck the fatlapses of the world. If a broke-ass band is trying to make an album and I really want to hear that shit, I'll gamble on losing my money giving it to them directly to support them. For example. Same thing goes for the gaming studios-- if they can resist being absorbed by fucking EA with my $10 then cool but if it's just like, "hey thanks for the money" unless you pay the cost of the game, yeah that situation can fuck off.

I'd rather not put money away on an unproven item, and I'm leary of never getting anything in return for it. I've seen kickstarter pages where the product they are raising funds for is 3-4 years out. Fuck that shit.
