I think it's called ScummVm. It's a program that will run Dott and many other adventure games on PC/MAC/Linux with no problem and with enchanted sound/graphics to boot.

You're using the Heart on the characters, right?

The heart rules. It caught me off guard when it started telling me how some of the maids were thieves and hated each other. Adds some much MEAT to an already MEATY game.Pisscubes wrote:YesWang Mandu wrote:You're using the Heart on the characters, right?

Yeah, and it has zero content or replayability. All the guns are the same. Fucking thing is on rails. Controls blow. Graphics suck. The story telling and voice acting are abysmal. Unlike Dishonored or Xcom or Sleeping Dogs, people won't be playing or talking about this a month from now.Wang Mandu wrote:Leave Borderlands alone!!!!
Do all the guns still sound like pew pew water pistols?

I'm sure it's packed to the gills with meat, I just remember the first one having very underwhelming gun sounds. When you're shooting guns for 30+ hours, that's inexcusable. Convince me in time for the upcoming Steam winter sale! But if you say I have to play the game in co-op to truly get any enjoyment from it, then don't bother.Cryptoplasty wrote:Yeah, and it has zero content or replayability. All the guns are the same. I like it, making it one of about three things in the universe that Cryptoplasty and I agree on. That should tell you something.Wang Mandu wrote:Convince me in time for the upcoming Steam winter sale!

The first game, maybe. This one, absolutly not. I prefer to play it solo. It does everything better than the first one, including gun sounds. If you care that much about gun sounds, maybe this isn't the game for you. As that one review said, this is no Call Of Duty.Wang Mandu wrote:But if you say I have to play the game in co-op to truly get any enjoyment from it, then don't bother.

I'm like 8 hours into dishonored right now and only have done two missions but yea game rules pretty hard but skills are way to easy to upgrade and only two of the skills are even worth using wish they would have developed the concepts a bit better
Game is a little too easy IMO even on hard

So after fighting the Steam installation on my PC for the past 2-3 hours, I've now completely wiped it, apps folder and all. Reinstalling BL2 as we speak. Don't expect it to suddenly start working. It breaks the Visual C++ installation everytime I reinstall it. Maybe this time will be different? PC gaming, lol.

I like how most BL2 hate is coming from people who haven't played the game or The Bill.
BL2 is probably my favorite game I've played since Catherine, which is in my top 5 games of all times. (I might be a secret weeaboo...idk)

Re: The Bill's Now Playing Video Game Thread (Now with Bames
Briefly in a couple spots. Any enjoyment I had was utterly wiped out by subsequent thought thereafter about how fucking retarded and false the whole thing rings. It's a story-based game but the story fucking sucks besides those brief couple scenes that were memorable. The dad waking up holding oreegormee pieces ? The killer going into a shoot-out to get the facts about the case when he knows the facts about the case because he's the killer ?
The best part of the game was intentionally fucking up taking off Madison's bra over and over to make it more realistic and see if she would get annoyed.

A story-based anything shouldn't have a ridiculous awful story
Particularly when everything else about the game is terrible as well
And personally, call me crazy if you want, but personally I wouldn't rank it better than New Vegas, God of War 3, Mass Effect 2 or a shit ton of other games

The man is just looking for a little sympathy from his fellow game players.
For SH:
One more and then I swear I'll stop: completely wiping everything seems to have fixed it. I think this was delayed fallout from when I moved the Steam installation from the SSD to the HD very early on.
Anyway, yeah, BL2 is all kinds of awesome. Aside from everything everyone already knows about, I think it's worth mentioning how the writing manages to take something like a simple "backtrack through these five objective markers on a map you already know and kill everything" sidequest and turn it into something funny enough to actually be worthwhile.
I guess the cartoony aesthetic isn't for everyone and that's why WM's sceptical about the guns, but I think it's awesome, and everything about the game's visuals holds together really well.
You know, now that I've got it working, after like 20 hours.

I was proving a point with that trophy. That no matter how shitty a game was, it wasn't going to defeat me. I've done the same thing with food plenty of times. Not that i'd expect you of all people to understand perseverance in the face of true adversity..

Re: The Bill's Now Playing Video Game Thread (Now with Bames
Goddamnit! I do like the game, a lot. Okay let me go back to clarify the original post, as it was originally something I wrote in two seconds and submitted not knowing it would be such a source of controversy:DR. THRAXX wrote:I like how most BL2 hate is coming from people who haven't played the game or The Bill.
I'm seeing how Dishonored pans out. Borderlands 2 is fun, but doesn't have too much meat to it. And then there's Far Cry 3, which is certainly looking at least like overachiever of the year.
I'm saying I have three opinions on what my GOTY might be:
1) I'm really liking Dishonored, but I'm still early on in it and need to play more before I can give you a solid yes or no.
2) Borderlands 2 is a blast, but I'm thinking it may be a bit too 2 dimensional in the long run. A severe problem the original had.
3) I'm hoping Far Cry 3 is the actual GOTY as it looks like it's filled to the brim with all kinds of goodness.
There, I admit there wasn't any meat to my original post, but I didn't expect it to be flamed like an over done veggie burger.
