as bad as it is now, it is absolutely an entire world away from the first generation xbox live crowd. wolfenstein and rainbow six and that whole wave of games brought the most miserable group of sewage ive ever seen in gaming. i swear i'd play a little of those games and i'd have to take a shower when i was done. there was just no mechanisms in place to deal with anything. it was horrible

and also i feel like whatever tech they were using at the time to relay the audio to the headsets was maybe a little lower grade in terms of just sound quality so it was this spiky soupy mono striborg din of malnourished prepubescent savages just letting everything out in a constant wall of sound.
