I finally started playing Dead Island. So far, it's not without its flaws but it's a lot of fun. I'm taking things slowly and doing lots of extra-curricular exploring; playing as the Chinese broad because I figured bladed weapons would mean more dismemberment... am only reading after the fact that she's apparently the hardest character to play with thanks to her lower number of health points, but oh well - I'm more annoyed by the fact that bladed weapons have really shitty durability. Killing 5~6 walkers is apparently enough to take a 100%-condition cleaver down to its last legs. Hopefully the bigger and better bladed weapons later in the game will last a little longer...

I only just finished clearing out the second safe house, but I already picked up the Cardio achievement for travelling 20km on foot. They really ought to have made that one harder to earn...

man, i've been getting this hankering to go buy a used slim ps2 and start a collection of games i might not have played but everyone says were good. agent under fire, the two towers and return of the king, battlefront 2, twisted metal black, etc.

it would be a nice change of pace from all this HD shiny online stuff to just go back to how it was when i was 16

what other games should i get?

so normally i can't force myself to finish rockstar games, but GTAV sounds cool as shit so far. if being able to switch between three characters on the fly actually works and isn't a dumb gimmick, i think it'll live up to the (already gigantic) hype*

*and also assuming it doesn't control like a game from 2002 like basically everything they've released post-2002

I've been heaps busy so I finally got around to polishing off Borderlands 2 last night, I cracked level 30 doing it - Like all have said on here, it's superior in every way to the first and a good fun and challenging shooter - Enjoyed it.

Now I have BLOPS 2, Dishonoured and Doom 3 redeux lying around untouched I might start Dishonoured and go a non-shootery route for shits and giggles.
