I watched Rush for the third time. This movie is so damn good. I think its Ron Howards best. This movie has so much heart.

Tucker & Dale vs. Evil - 7.5/10
what charming fellows, and a cute movie in general; for being long on premise and short on basically everything else, it's good that the two and a half principal actors were engaging and likable
Creepshow 2 - 4.666/10.666
highlight was definitely remembering George Kennedy's name on sight
Silent House - 5.5/10
the it's a single take wink wink aspect was neat, when the handicam horseshit wasn't totally nauseating (which was fairly often), and I don't get all fuckin women's studies about the twist at the end, but it was really kinda... haphazardly addressed; especially with the vantagepoint of the film, with this disembodied but limited observer that is inexorably trained on the protagonist, but we're seeing her

? it just rings kind of false; also I totally called it in the first few minutes because it was startlingly obvious

Amusing enough, started slow. The girl doesn't get naked, and it's bullshit.
Vanishing Waves - 9
Derivative and needlessly slow in a few spots. Don't care. Loved it.\

Beyond the Black Rainbow - 6 or 7?
Great visuals, glacial pace. Reminds me in some ways of Rubber's Lover and 964 Pinocchio, but I didn't like it as much.

The Good, the Bad, the Weird - 8/10
An Eastern Western, centering on 3 displaced Koreans (bounty hunter, assassin, thief) in 1930's Manchuria, and an ancient treasure map. Plenty of gunfights and adventure, plus a thrilling extended chase scene rivaling anything coming out of Hollywood... all with an oddball sense of humor throughout. Good stuff!

not sure if youre being sarcastic but i love this movie. the first time i saw it i thought it was really dumb and unfunny. but f/x used to play it all the fucking time, and if there was nothing else on, i would just put it on the background while i'd do something else. after a while it grew on me so bad. other then ashley schaffer its will ferrell at his funniest. the "...hes absolutely right" line and when he flips out about zoolander having the same face cracks me up every time.
