I just realized that strafing would be extremely awkward on a device like that. Maybe the future needs to wait a bit.

You'd have to develop an entirely new sort of game for it. Even then I don't think it would really be all that interesting.

Arguably the worst one is the most expensive. I'm a coin flip away from getting the original even though I didn't care for what I played back in the 90's.

Is the RE5 DLC any good? I never played that because it wasn't compatible with my imported game, and I didn't want to buy it again because I sank about 80 hours into unlocking damn near everything in the game and didn't want to start over, but now that the full game seems to cost about as much as the DLC originally did...

Yeah, I ordered that. I have a very good feeling about this one. If it gets to me by Friday, I'm putting DMC aside (maybe even sell it back without finishing it). Interesting that I seem to only be interested in games that have some sort of companion tied to the game play. Damn you, Bioshock!

My point is, many Family Fun places understand dad needs a pop or two...
Speaking of Six Flags, one of the only downsides of the bay area is that there are no world-class amusement parks in the area. Going to one that's inferior to Ohio's Cedar Point is just going to be a disappointment. I guess that's the problem with the abundance of all-natural outdoor amusement to be had

Not really, but I'm more interested in why they think now is the time when one would venture it's past the peak of its popularity?spacehamster wrote:Does anyone here but me care that there's a Ratchet & Clank movie coming out?

On a similar subject are any game based animes any good? I know there's 2 Dead Space ones, I think a Dante's Inferno, Sin... all I can think of but I'm sure there are a ton more.

But that's not the that I'm talking about - 0 deaths, 1 country lost... for that Ironman Impossible game.
http://steamcommunity.com/id/djk29a/screenshots
I hardly have a need to play it anymore since I can't do any better without going for all achievements. I think someone showed it's basically impossible to not lose any countries on Impossible difficulty without an immense amount of luck, which I think I got with the zero deaths if you ask me.
The Dante's Inferno anime was strange but alright - multiple artists in one movie with several styles. Maybe we'll see a Darksiders anime before another game given it's in IP hell from the THQ auction taking a turn for the weird. The Bill wrote:On a similar subject are any game based animes any good?

Re: The Bill's Now Playing Video Game Thread (Now with Bames
Given that the game series is basically dead creatively, I'd say moving the franchise to movies is actually the only place to go with it at this point... but I'm sure it's just because whatever Hollywood dealings have been going on for years have finally fallen into place now, and nobody knows what they're doing. The Bill wrote:Not really, but I'm more interested in why they think now is the time when one would venture it's past the peak of its popularity?spacehamster wrote:Does anyone here but me care that there's a Ratchet & Clank movie coming out?

3D animated movies for kids are almost always a safe bet... I guess video game adaptations aren't common, but I mean they'll base those things on absolutely anything... and you can sell any fucking goddamn thing to kids.
If you take a bucket of gabrbage water and put a colorful sticker on it and show it on a commercial where kids pay with it, you will sell at least 40,000 of them.
"Joey are you asleep?"
"Yeah mom I am goodnight!"
cut to kid wearing sunglasses playing with bucket of garbage water with a flashlight under the covers
Fun Fluid... for kids with attitude. Say no to mom

The thing is also that the good Ratchet games are halfway there already anyway. Quest for Booty and Crack in Time are basically Pixar movies with shooter gameplay. All you need to do is take out the shooter gameplay and tighten up the story a bit. And they seem to know it, too, they're even keeping the voice cast.

No shit, me too. They need to gussy up that series before it's so late that it brings down the entire FPS genre with it. I'm thinking it's somewhere between self-parody and blatant sheep herding. Meet the Spartans 8. I'm much more likely to play Legendary than another COD game at this point:james wrote:i would play one of those games if you shot real ghosts

I am about ten hours into this. I stopped when I actually got motivated to play Skyrim. I forget where I am at, but I am getting my ass handed to me. A buddy of mine is into all the downloadable content. I guess it supposedly delivers.canon.docre wrote:Legend of Grimrock. Words cannot describe how fucking rad this game is.
