this is why most of my builds are dex builds now. fast weapons, fast rolls. zip zip zip. i got stuck pvping a guy last night in the burg with heavy armor and strength weapons (zwei, then claymore, then dragon tooth) and after invading me a 4th time went at me with the scorpion tail whip shit. after 4 losses in a row every time he'd invade again and see me he'd jump off the stairs and suicide or black crystal out. fucking giant dad minmax pussies... switch it up.Spooky Apparition wrote:i could never get the timing down with those slow swings.

Re: The Dark Souls Thread
Upgrading Havel's Greatshield does nothing but waste titanite. It increases bash damage (which is pretty useless), and increases durability, which would only help if you're using that special stone skin move a lot.guardianoftheblind wrote:just started the DLC

Also, you're about to get fucking torn to pieces by the DLC bosses.

kalameet isn't that bad. getting the obsidian greatsword solo on the other hand... that's bad.
he's easier to read and dodge than those ganking fucking 4 kings at least.

four kings on NG++ and above can be the hardest boss in the game, depending on your build

most of my builds are low strength so lots of timed rolls and shit. only havels i use are (occasionally) the gauntlets for poise, if i want to slow tumble like a bitch. no ninja flip lol.

yeah, I'm probably more excited for DS2 than the PS4 right now, but a map, figurine and art book for the price of a game is a liillllll steep. at least the normal preorder's got some extras

Re: The Dark Souls Thread
also:
"It’s interesting how much of Demon’s Souls appears to be making its way into the Dark Souls sequel. For one thing, you’re never safe anymore. Similar to Demon’s Souls, when in Hollow form players will lose some Max HP. Unlike Demon’s Souls, they’ll lose a little bit of their max life each time they die. This can only be reversed by restoring your human form, which you do by consuming a new consumable item called a Human Effigy.
In Hollow form, players will not only lose max HP, they will also remain vulnerable to invasion—this is in stark contrast to the original Dark Souls which allowed invasion of Human characters only. Now, unless you unplug from the internet, you’ll always be at risk. One covenant, however, called The Way of Blue, automatically summons another player—a helping ‘Blue Sentinel’ phantom—if players are invaded."
every detail I've read about DS2 so far is awesome.

Yeah, the Black Armor Edition is the same price as the regular and has soundtrack and metal case. $59.99. Take my money.Spooky Apparition wrote:at least the normal preorder's got some extras
I'm still waiting to see when the PC version will be released. From Software is supposed to be working towards getting it out around the same time as consoles, in which case I'll just go that route.

Re: The Dark Souls Thread
if not, do you have a ps3 or 360? I've STILL never played a souls game with a reee poster... seriously one of my biggest life regrets. riley and I were going to demon's souls coop but he was a higher SL than me. they should allow cross platform MP at least, come on you stubborn japsa world of no wrote:From Software is supposed to be working towards getting it out around the same time as consoles, in which case I'll just go that route.

Re: The Dark Souls Thread
I have PS3. I'll most likely get a copy for that eventually, depending on how PvP is with PC. At the moment it's ok for PC, but there's just not as many players as on the consoles, and then there's the twinks and hackers fucking shit up with their trainers.. Latest fix addressed that, but also broke a lot of mods that make playing on PC worth playing.
I currently have one character on PS3. Don't remember soul level though. When the new game comes out we'll have to set up for some jolly reee-cooperation.

There's a new mod that makes enemies "super aggressive", and puts them in places they normally wouldn't be. Version 1.0, but I'm not hearing many bad things about it.
