HANNIBAL on NBC
it's back niggaz
whoever designs the bizarre corpse-structures in this show must have a blast. Would love to have that job... I'm such a sucker for this goofy 90s serial killer shit.

That opening made me wince more than once. I am surprised they got away with that on NBC.
Hannibal's talk with the killer and Will baiting Hannibal.

Re: HANNIBAL on NBC
First episode of this season was glorious, but the second one was a bit ho-hum after the opening. The guy tearing himself loose was definitely ser biz for an NBC show, but after that it slowed down too much for me. Good concept, dull execution. We'll see. I had mixed feelings about the first season too, it just hasn't quite lived up to its potential yet. It's all there, but they're not doing enough with it.

Re: HANNIBAL on NBC
Me too. I was extremely skeptical at first, wound up really enjoying myself about halfway through. There's a lot of dumb shit in this show - I especially am not really fond of Will so far. The good outweighs the bad though, and in the end I am just an addict for this franchise. I really, really like this version of the Hannibal character.spacehamster wrote:I had mixed feelings about the first season too, it just hasn't quite lived up to its potential yet.

Re: HANNIBAL on NBC
This and the general visual aesthetic of the show could carry it through just about anything. There's way too much standard cop show shit bogging it down that I can't help but think wouldn't be in the show if it wasn't on NBC, but Mads Mikkelsen as Hannibal is absolutely bulletproof.james wrote:I really, really like this version of the Hannibal character.

I still haven't adjusted to having high-quality television on television - seeing beautiful and striking images on network programming is incredibly novel. I'm happy whenever I see that goofy deer.

Yeah, I'm pretty much immune to gore after roomating with this dopey guy who was obsessed with zombie, cannibal, and European horror films. That scene, though, grizzled me.Wang Mandu wrote:That opening made me wince more than once. I am surprised they got away with that on NBC.

Re: HANNIBAL on NBC
Only watched the very first episode, it was alright I guess. That Swedish dude playing Hannibal was pretty awesome, the rest meh. Too much flashy bullshit, I didn't like the MTV like aesthetics, and the special power of the main character to "deduct" what happened at a crime scene (what the fuck is he basing his deductions on... that's some lazy writing) was ridiculous and hard to believe.

I find myself being more and more influenced by the meals Hannibal prepares and I nearly came when he showed the wagyu on the latest episode

caught up
i still wish this didn't feel so vacuous to me but it is considerably better this season than last. the fact that scrutiny has tightened closer and closer around hannibal has brought a lot more genuine tension, i think. food scenes are great. will still sucks a fat one..
that ear cutting scene

Yeah dude what the fuck, Will sucks. He's always been a cheesy character in almost every version (Manhunter Will was dope) but jesus this one is unlikable.
A few episodes behind on this but still interested. NIGGAS

Hannibal drinking game: take a shot everytime Hannibal talks about friendship.
Season's good so far, though. Less cop show shit, more dead people posed as sculptures.

Awww man, these last few episodes. They can still fuck it all up next week, but so far, season 2 is so much better than the first one, it's not even funny.

Mason Verger is possibly my favorite thing about this show now, but I worry what's going to happen now that he's achieved his final form. He was glorious, walking around being snarky, talking like an autistic megalomaniac.james wrote: Collecting childrens tears to save for later
Also, the chick who plays his sister is so faptastic, I don't even.
Anyway, at the end of yesterday's episode I came to that same realization - this really is a good show now. Everything makes sense, yet I never know what happens next, and everything that's always been good from the set designs to the camera work and Mads Mikkelsen is still there. The only thing that bothers me a bit is how they don't seem to know what to do with Alanna Bloom anymore, she's just sort of there, sleeping with Hannibal, being confused and crying a lot.

Sister does a shower scene in Freddy vs. Jason BUT I have a faded memory that says it was a body double for the boobs part. She also starred in a werewolf trilogy called Ginger Snaps if you need more of her.spacehamster wrote:
