Super Metriod.... I don't like it as much as SOTN. That being said, yeah, it's pretty awesome. I love that the main weapon gets upgraded and I don't have to switch to different weapons. Unlike, the explosives. But I understand, due to the whole door opening thing.

Complains about walls of text (on a messageboard no less ) and then adds nothing to the thread. Fantastic work!

I quite like his reviews and musings on games! I enjoy everyone's thoughts in this thread, even about stuff I don't play like Stallone and fighting games or james and valgader and old school, only 16 bit is trve posts.

This thread is always a good read. I like the games industry discussion. I dont think someone who does nothing but post preview videos and hardly ever plays a game for more than 5 minutes before giving up really much say in how this thread should go.

Anyone playing Remember Me? I'm curious because the setting and the visuals seem so interesting, but by all accounts the actual game stinks, and there's no demo.

Yeah, I guess that's what's in my future as well. I'm also waiting for Colonial Marines to drop to under 10 bux, but so far I think it's still at launch price. Ridiculous. People must actually be buying this game.Pisscubes wrote:I'd love to try it sometime but it would have to be 20 or under, so I think I got a long time until I play it.spacehamster wrote:Anyone playing Remember Me? Re: The Bill's Now Playing Video Game Thread (Now with Bames
So, that silly little Wii2HDMI thing goes to show that up scaling really doesn't change much and that developers need to get cracking with better textures come this new generation if we want true 1080p graphics. Outside of higher TV resolution the capability of a HDMI cable comes shining through. Wii through the HDMI does improve color vibrancy for sure. The picture is probably sharper but I'd have to do a side by side comparison. Something I didn't think of, but the sound is better and louder. Of course, I only tried Super Metriod, Super Mario World, Zelda:LTTP, and Luigi's Mansion. Still need to try Metriod Prime, Twin Snakes, and an actual Wii title or two to see if there are any true benefits. All that said, in not sure I'd recommend it unless your TV only has HDMI inputs, you want to get rid of some cable clutter, or your obsessive about having optimal picture quality no matter how small.

So basically every game released bar the 1% that is actually great?Pisscubes wrote:
The general consensus seemed to be there were some really cool ideas and a pretty great setting/atmosphere, but the rest was just pissed down the leg. It sounds like there is a possibility at least for this to be one of those games that people look back on in a year or so and say, "You know what? That game was actually alright."

There's a website where they rent your mailbox video games technology and then at least around here theres a red tardis that appears in grocery stores that will give you video games for suprisingly little money but you have to give them back or something bad happens to your credit... whatever that meanscanon.docre wrote:does this exist still?guardianoftheblind wrote:just rent it

Dishonored was so great at first, but along the way it lost me a little. I'm not sure if the mechanics just grew tiresome or the design changed unfavorably. Don't get me wrong, I rather liked it and will replay it with different abilities one day down the line. I think when the clams that spit at you were introduced it lost its thunder.

My problem with dishonored is when they take all your crap from you near the end and throw teleporty guys at you and it's obnoxious trying to go nonlethal. That was stupid.
if there's anybody in the world who'd be fucking unobservant enough to actually damage themselves with trap-soap I guess it'd be the guy with dialup in 2007

And then during the party level when they just tell you who the target is at one point instead of letting you figure it out

Saw some COD:Ghost gameplay. So, with the exception of better lighting and dog-o-vision it's the same boring goddamn crap once again. Key word, boring.

Ghost Dog... reminds me of that hidden level in Super Castlevania, where you kill a ghost dog and then the dog's owner ( a ghost fisherman? ) cries. Fucking Simon going off all Captain Ahab on us.

RDR has frozen right at the end of two missions in a row pre-save. I like the game but I can't keep doing this

Anything that erases accrued progress will absolutely cause me to abandon a game and never return. If I haven't set out to truly, purposefully conquer a game in expectation of a great reward and experience, I will absolutely take my toys and go home weeping angrily...riley-o wrote:RDR has frozen right at the end of two missions in a row pre-save.
