that was monocle dropping. pretty solid game so far, even though it's easy as hell. it's like kids-level turn based mechanics with some seriously AO-rated content.

The truth is, though, that it's been announced that the game will run at 30fps/1080p, which I do think is disappointing. What the hell is it with From and low fps?

you like bungie games? this is a bungie-ass bungie game.

do you like the DMR? got that. you like herding weird aliens with grenades and then meleeing them after jumping 30 feet in the air? you can do that.

do you like shotguns with an effective range of half a foot that take 45 minutes to reload? well it's got that too.

the generated missions so far seem pretty stupid but it's hard to get too worked up about that when you're playing an open-world halo game.

if that's something that blows your skirt up anyway.

i just played one of the big "boss" missions and holy shit i'm on board with this game now. same basic rush as taking down a scarab on legendary. like, dudes who like halo campaigns, you have no reason to not be interested in this game. pretty cool.

this is my line of thinking on that:

1) game is announced. fairly excited. it's Bungie, after all

2) some of the hype starts dying down. game play footage is released. still not totally sure what kind of game it is. meh whatever

3) alpha is released. people LOVE it. back on board

i think the biggest problem is that they don't just call it what it is: halo mmo.

when you're wandering around doing miscellaneous missions, it's basically like playing halo or borderlands single player. when you do the bigger missions, it's like guild wars or another instanced mmo mission, but with halo gameplay. and i understand, mmo is kind of a dirty word. but it's absolutely an mmo in structure. it makes a lot of sense when you play it, but they're doing a terrible job trying to sell it.

Sadly, I'm very curious about that one as well. I'm still waiting for the package with Killzone and Wolfenstein to arrive (getting a little worried DHL fucked up again, actually), but as soon as that's here, I'm running to the store to get a PS4.

No, they don't charge till it ships. I've only had two issues with Amazon. Both involved a Halo game. Other than that it's been great. I get packages early half the time. Not sure if it's because I ship stuff to Manhattan.
