"riff" and "quirky" songwriting. Fuck them forever.
next you're going to tell me that pan-thy-monium sucks...
Do you think so highly of them that you're even suggesting Blood Inc is in the same league as Pan-Thy-Monium?
Why Kevin? That's some serious
no way man, just sayn that quirky riff songwriting without choruses or repetition is exactly ptm so dont knock it!
I'm not knocking it. I actually love that shit, it just depends on the context. Blood Incantation fails miserably at it and they think they're a bunch of geniuses for it. As for live performance, haven't seen them yet but those are two different scenarios.
I recently saw Nails and I thought that band was garbage - especially with that doofus Todd flexing at every chance he had but they're a good live band. They're better live than on record. It helps that Leon is in that band, since he's the only legit dude in that group and they know it - that's why at that one show during the middle of the song, Robocop introduces Leon without doing a solo or anything...just playing the same riff "LADIES AND GENTLEMEN: LEON DEL MUERTE!"
I like the Blood Incantation I’ve heard. Kind of sounds like more spaced out abstract versions of old Kataklysm songs. I don’t really care if they are hipster doofuses or whatever. I’m not emotionally invested in them one way or another. When you’re a broken down old pile of fuck like me it is so rare to hear any new music that really connects to you in any meaningful way.

Most of my favorite bands are mexican, like cephalic carnage
Would you have the goodness, pardon the intrusion, to hold my little doggy?
I'm sorry I wasn't here earlier to agree with that one guy about Blood Incantation being bad. Then again, I came around on some of their new album. It's solidly OK.
I didn't look far back enough to see whether or not you guys already posted these:
I haven't found anyone in the last year talking about that Pernicion album. I normally don't flock to nowadays OSDM bands but it was one of the albums I listened to more often this year. Maybe it's good to me but mediocre to other people? I'd rather believe that it was just overlooked.
