The Family Stone 3/10 I’m starting to think slasher movies offer a more realistic view into how people act and react in real life vs these goddamn “rom-coms”.

I had absolutely no idea Stan Winston directed Pumpkinhead. I heard the creature effects were great, but I've never seen it. Gotta check that out now

It’s a nice little Halloween type tale. Really nothing too special, but probably better than any movie that came out last 2 years.Eight Bit Alien wrote: ↑Mon Jan 17, 2022 2:54 pm I had absolutely no idea Stan Winston directed Pumpkinhead. Ideally, society should be organized via a warrior-priest aristocracy.
I can trace my ancestry all the way back to historic germanic tribal chieftains in fact.

The Wave. 8/10 drugs and time travel. If you enjoyed Donnie Darko you may enjoy this. Its on Amazon Prime and it came out in 2020.
Child of God. 8/10. James Franco directed it, Cormac McCarthy wrote it. One could say its about a man and his fuck toy, and his persecution by the un-understanding town folk.

Never Rarely Sometimes Never
I watched for 20 minutes then decided it wasn't for me. Nothing against it; I'm sure it's a fine film.

Cronenberg's - "Shivers"
"I Drink Your Blood" (not cronenberg)
Can't really give either a proper rating as I wasn't really paying too much attention to either of them.
"I Drink Your Blood" is the source of the sample you've heard used over and over again:
" let it be known that I am a Capricorn. .... Satan was an acid head.... Together we'll all freak out."
Lots of blood on tits. A pretty surprising amount of animal abuse even for the 70's.
It's interesting seeing early croneberg before he honed his craft.

Marvel's Eternals: Team diversity also has a sign language bitch. I'm sure she's very useful against the CGI dinosaur/insects. Stopped watching at the 6 minute point.

Spiral: From the Book of SAW. 6/10 It’s as stupid as any of the SAW movies, but I was entertained by it. Unfortunately, the ending was abrupt and pretty awful.

Mad God 9/10
Jesus Christ, that was intense. Made me buy the Phil Tippett documentary straight away. Can't wait to watch it again.
MST3K - Space Mutiny 8/10
I'd never seen MST3k before (it seems to be extremely popular in the US, but rather unknown in Europe apparently - even amongst my film nerd pals, nobody has seen any of it), but it was hilarious and made me get four more episodes.
Book of Boba Fett episodes 3 & 4 - 7/10
Not bad at all.
