I wonder how many are genuine enjoyers and not some weird niche resellers or people doing some kind of research. Likely not much of a percentage are, but maybe a handful.

Finding people with NYC addresses reminded me of a record shop off St. Marks that carried some pretty suspect albums and clothing in the late 90s. I heard you needed to ask for the real skinhead shit (may or may not be true!), but it was the spot to find overpriced import kvlt black metal albums. It was named something like Lethal Wear, maybe? It was on my weekly record store & gallery rounds for a while. Not the best vibes there...
