When I was a kid in Switzerland and nobody spoke English, a lot of us thought Judas Priest and Iron Maiden were the names of people because it's two words and we didn't know what they meant, so it had to be a person's name. That's what I got.

I remember one time at 15 or so, going to the store with my dad and they had video tape rentals. I asked if I could get The Wall by Pink Floyd. My dad’s response was “he’s a jerk” meaning the person named Pink Floyd. Many years later after many holiday drinks, my dad sat on the couch and watched Live at Pompei with me and seemed to be unoffended by Mr Floyd.

When I was in Music Theory class my junior year of high school, there was this sophomore nerd who always wore a Slipknot shirt, so me and a couple of my friends would just ask him "Which one of those 9 guys is Slipknot?" and he would get really mad and say they all go by numbers and nobody in the band was named Slipknot, but we kept saying "Every band has someone named after the band, so which one is named Slipknot?" and he really hated it.
